Tashi Kyil Tour Saturday

In partnership with the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center and its Kumbum Chamtse-Ling Monastery in Bloomington, Indiana, monks from Labrang Tashikyil Monastery in Dehra Dun, India are touring the United States to teach the Dharma, educate the public about the culture and religion of Tibet, and to raise much needed funds for their monastery.

The Tashikyil monks are visiting the Lotus Light Center

9:00 Ceremony to Greet His Holiness the Dalai Lama with Mandala Offering
Interactive workshop on the proper way to set up a Buddhist Altar

10:00 Meditation Instruction with chanting of mantra Om Mani Padme Hum
Chenrezig Sadhana (Blessing)

12:00. Lunch

1:00 – 3 pm: Art Workshop with Panda Dance
including Tibetan Script Workshop
Monks demonstrate how to write Tashi Deleg in Tibetan

4:00 – 6 pm: Cooking Class (monks and class members cook momo’s for the dinner
6:00 – 7 pm Prepare other food for dinner
7:00 – 8:30 Tashi Sholpa Welcoming Dance
