Location and Newcomer Information
The Lotus Light Contemplative Community Center is conveniently located at 501 Arthur Street Knoxville, TN 37921, in the Olde Mechanicsville Neighborhood, just a mile West of downtown Knoxville and North of the University of Tennessee at the intersection of I-40 and I-275 (I-75).
Our beautiful 108 year old building can’t be missed, sitting diagonal from the park and across the street from the oldest functioning firehouse in town.
From North of downtown Knoxville take I-275 S to UT/Downtown, keep in the right lane, and then right again. turn right onto Western Ave and then take the first right, immediatly after the I- 275 on ramp, onto Arthur Street.
From downtown or East of downtown Knoxville take Summit Hill to Western Avenue, just past I-275 turn right onto Arthur.
From West of downtown Knoxville take I-40 Downtown/UT exit just past I-275 exit, keep right twice for exits, turn right onto Western Avenue and then take the first right, immediatly after I- 275 on-ramp, onto Arthur Street.
From South of downtown Knoxville take Broadway, left on Western, continue a half mile just past I-275 and turn right onto Arthur.
From Central Ave and Broadway, take 5th Ave West past I-275 overpass, turn left onto Arthur.
From Western Avenue East I-275 turn left on Deaderick Street, keep straight as Deaderick turns into Aurthur.
Parking
Ample parking is available on the streets near the building. Please do not park in front of adjacent residents homes on Arthur or McGhee Streets as some are disabled.
Protocol
Please dress modestly and comfortably, preferably in layers. We request that shoes be removed in the entranceway out of respect for the meditation space. Please silence any noise-making devices such as cellphones. If you arrive late or leave early, do so as unobtrusively as possible.
Fees/Donations
Fees/suggested donations vary based on the event and are specified in the event description. Donations of time, treasure, or talent are always appreciated as they help support the mission of our center.
Child Care
Children and teenagers are welcome to attend events as long as they are not disruptive. We do not offer child care; however, there is a large porch and nearby park which children can enjoy under your supervision.
