Friday, November 24, 2-6 pm
Lotus Light will host a potluck and swap meet for its community members. You are welcome to come anytime between 2 & 6 pm. The gratitude circle led by AH will take place from 3-4pm.
Bring a potluck dish to share and enjoy time and fellowship with one another. Those who wish can also bring items they value, but no longer need to swap (see details below).
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we will take time for an abundance circle and gratitude practice led by Sangha member AH. Feel free to bring a personal altar item to place in the center of the circle during the practice.
SWAP MEET GUIDELINES
A swapping party is where those who come trade items they no longer need. Perhaps you really don’t make bread anymore, or you have clothes that never really fit your wardrobe, or grandma’s nick-knacks that really don’t work with your decor. These things are just taking up valuable space in your home. And, since you know where the goods are coming from, you can feel comfortable knowing you’re getting things that have been taken care of!
Please bring items that are in good shape (ie. that you would gladly receive or give someone you know). Please consider bringing items that you are ready to let go of and see received by someone else who can really use or will really love and value that item. No money is exchanged, and items placed out are free to be taken without bartering.
Please consider the size of our Lotus Light space. We can not accommodate large items, or for any one person to bring a large volume of items. Think more in line with a closet/cabinet clean out versus garage/storage clean out.
Swap your tools, household items, artwork, books, music, clothing & accessories, toys, kitchen ware, etc. No large furniture items — smaller items that can fit into a car and taken home the same day are ok. No food/pantry items for the swap meet (just prepared snacks and food for the potluck please).
You are free to take your own items home with you if they are not needed by anyone else; otherwise any remaining items will be donated on your behalf to Our Lady of Charity.
