Sound Mandala

Meditation

August 24, 7pm

Cost: $30

(sliding scales available)

In this unique evening program, Karina Koloch will guide us through the sacred space of the maṇḍala with practices of compassion and self-compassion, using the subtle medium of sound.  With a variety of indigenous instruments that powerfully evoke the specific energies and directions of the maṇḍala through activating the elements of earth, water, fire, wind, and space, we will be guided through various stages of a sound journey, unlocking an intimate interior space to bring its healing resources to ourselves and others.

This practice is a collaborative integration of sound, conscious breathing, contemplation and vocalization to create an intimate and nurturing space. We will work with a variety of instruments (gongs, singing bowls, rain sticks, tuning forks, drums, chimes, among others) to move through mental and emotional landscapes of awareness. The play of the sensorial awareness of sound will create sense of openness, spaciousness, and receptivity, cultivating mindfulness of body, feelings and mental states. The practice is a sonic journey to access altered states of mind that allow for deep healing.
